Hi, I am a few days from buying this pc but need to know

Toshiba Portege M400 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 12.1" TFT
Intel Core Duo T2400 / 1.83 GHz ( Dual-Core ) 2 MB - L2 cache
512 MB (installed) / 4 GB (max) - DDR II SDRAM - 667 MHz ( 1 x 512 MB )
100 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm
DVD±RW (+R DL) / DVD-RAM - plug-in module
12.1" TFT active matrix 1400 x 1050 ( SXGA+ ) - 24-bit (16.7 million colors)
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005
3 years warranty

I Have some question that hopefully you guys can answer.
BTW this will be my 1st notebook/laptop/tablet

A)
The plugin module - If i wanted a 2nd Hard drive.
and purchase this Toshiba Ultra Slim SelectBay Hard Disk Drive Adapter PA3408U-2ETC
Would this adpator work with any 2.5" Hard drive that i buy .? or will it only work with the
toshiba - Toshiba Hard Disk Drive Kit ie PA3430U-2HA0 (100GB) ?

B)
Are the newer M400 that are being sold have the updated bios etc
has it resolved much of the problems being indicated on the forums
ie 1) hanging while IE ,
2) Screen does not work after hibernating.

It seems most of the posting regarding these problems are from April 06-june 06

C)
LCD question, Does it have the reflective screen much seen on a typical notebook nowadays

ie with TruBrite™ or sonys XBRITE-? or is it the same as most LCD monitors dull surface?

D)

When upgrading the RAM, would another 512mb be sufficient, total 1Gb be enough

Mainly for Surfing the net, & editing on photshop CS2

E) Bluetooth 2.0 Module Kit
PA3477U-1BTM $109.00

How is this installed? via PCMCIA?

F) re:Battery, Did you guys bought a main spare? or the slice one extender?

Thanks,

Charles

THANKS Wayne, i'll JUST POST it FOR other ppl who wants to know.....

A) The Hard Drive Adapter will work with any 2.5" SATA hard drive you can
find. I'd suggest getting one of the hitachi 7200RPM drives and putting it
in the laptop, and then the 5400RPM drive that comes with the unit can go in
the adapter.

B) It doesn't matter which BIOS they come with, it is a 2 minute job to
update it yourself to the latest.

C) It is not one of those nasty super-glossy screens that you can see
yourself in, but it is very much better than earlier tablets were. It is a
wide-view screen, so it's very good. Pop into a superstore and have a look
and see what you think.

D) If you are doing lot's of SERIOUS Photoshop work (hundreds of layers) you
may want more. As a 1Gb module is not a lot more than a 512, grab one of
them to give you 1.5Gb as a starting point. That way Vista will scoot along
well, and your core apps will perform as you'd like.

E) The BT module is an internal install. If the mob you buy it through can't
install it, let me know and I'll send you the Maintenance Manual for that
DIY touch... :-)

F) As the battery has pretty good life, I bought the slice battery for
extended use. Saying that, I have probably used it 3 times in 6 months...

Hope that helps.

W.
