Hey folks - I've been trying to follow the instructions on this forum for upgrading the Nvdia drivers on my M205 so that I can run the Ver. 66.77 Display driver.

The problem I encounter is this - the install goes fine using both the manual "upgrade driver" or setup.exe options until the very end. Then, I get a dialog box that says "There was a problem with this sfotware installation" with an error description of "Access Denied".

Anyone encounter this before? Any way to get around it? I'm running the default VGASave drivers fo the moment so I can use the M205, but only in laptop mode. There's no screen rotation at all.

Any help you can provide would be apprectiated.

Thank you in advance.

When you are using the "manual" install are you going through "device manager" and update driver? I found this to be the best way to go about it. I installed the latest driver they had on laptopvideo2go.com the 97.92 and everything on my M200 seems to be working good. You got to follow the install instructions to the letter or it would function they way you want it too (rotation).

the 97.92 drivers kept crashing my system even after a correct install. I dont know how you got them to work but maybe its because i only have 1.5 gigs of ram?

Yeah, I got it to work on my M200. I do have 2 gigs of ram running on a 1.5 mhz processor, so I'm not sure if thats what is making it work.

I am currently using the 96.98 with no problems on 768MB of ram.

satoribomb: are you logged into your machine with an admin account? If not that would be the issue....otherwise I am not sure what it could be.
