I had my M4 start showing red where there should be black, and blue stripes where there should be white. The red is not solid, it's streaky and pulses a bit. The blue lines are more consistent. It is extremely annoying. It looks a lot like the YouTube video here:

I had a local computer store take it apart. They recommended replacing the screen. I have a friend with an M4, so they swapped our screens as a test. My screen worked in his computer, his showed red in mine. So it is [u]not an LCD problem</u>
They next suggested changing the motherboard, which according to the comments seemed to work for the you tube fellow. I haven't followed up with this.
Today I found a work around. It is only [u]pure </u>black and [u]pure</u> white that is mis displayed. Things that are just short of black (and white) display without distortion, but still look (to my eye) like black and white.
So- I adjusted the contrast in the display settings to about 82%. this eliminates almost all pure black/white pixels and the display is undistorted. Contrast is obviously a bit lower, but no more pulsing red lines.
This made my day in a big way. In an old thread several other people posted with similar problems. Hope this helps you and saves you the ~$500 on a new mother board.
Thanks,
AJC
