hi,
my keyboard is screwed. I spilled milk on it months ago and it worked fine, however, recently, everything is messed up. However, if I leave it on until it hibernates then turn it back on it works fine for 5 minutes, after that, the same problems occur.
Heres whats wrong

The liquid probably has caused corrosion in the keyboard, shorting a few paths.
For a technically adept person it may well be reparable, but if you have none close, I recommend that you get it replaced by Toshiba Service.

Sounds like paths opening or shorting as it warms up. Check here: http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=34880 for some options...

thanks for the help guys.
I don't have it underwarrenty anymore so do you have any idea how much it would cost for some one to do it? I think i'll use an external for now until I get more money. If its way cheaper to do it myself and get a replacement, i might do that instead

Well, until march 27, you can find pleny of them On eBay for a measly $30 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Toshiba-Portege-M200-M205-Tablet-Keyboard-P000422920_W0QQitemZ170075022689QQcmdZViewItem) ( you must be born under a lucky star, eh ? :-) )

Thanks for all the help! I just ordered a replacement and
hope to install it sometime this week. I hope to return here and
type my response on my new keyboard without taking ten minutes to do so and constantly using the back and forth arrow keys!
I had to buy a new adapter earlier last week. Hopefully nothing else breaks!

I installed the keyboard and it works!
It was really easy.
Tip for those installing a replacement regarding the "port" where the cable is attached.
The two black things at the edges needs to be nudged down (toward you)
Then all you have to do is slightly pull the cable. After that, you can slide the new cable in and push the black sliders up so it locks.
Its really easy!

The three weakest links on the M200 are:
(1) the lame pen. the clip breaks very easy and then it won't stay in the garage.
(2) the keyboard is sensitive to any water exposure.
(3) the adapter cord is a bit finicky.
But the good news is ... I've dropped mine a few times and it does well in the tumbles !
