Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone had successfully used an SD card for Readyboost in their Toshiba M200?
I have bought a Kingston Elite Pro 1GB SD card, which is supposed to be super-fast and which I thought would be great for Readyboost. However when I plug it into my M200, it tells me that it is not fast enough for Readyboost. I suspect it is the laptop's SD slot that is not fast enough.
I would be very appreciative of any advice on drivers for the SD adapter, or if anyone could let me know if they have had any success.

Regards,

Matt Sharpe :D

Well from doing some searching it appears that several have tried it with the m200, but no one has had success yet.

From the gottabemobile forum....

Readyboost Hack

1. Plug in the device.
2. Open the Readyboost tab on the device properties.
3. Select "Do not retest this device"
4. Unplug the device
5. Open regedit (start->run->regedit)
6. Expand - HKLM (Local Machine)\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EMDgmt
7. Find your device.
8. Change Device Status to 2 decimal
9. Change ReadSpeedKBs to 1000 decimal
10. Change WriteSpeedKBs to 1000 decimal
11. Plug in the device.
12. Enable Readyboost!!!!

Sorry mdsharpe, I didn't notice you started this thread... You posted the Hack at gottabemobile.

So as an update my Windows Experience Rating (WER) went from 1.0 to 2.4 after using Readyboost and now I'm able to extend my monitor with Glass staying enabled while multi-tasking.

Too Cool

sneezinglion, sounds like bad news.. i wonder if there'll ever be a driver update or anything that will fix it?

hey jnjroach, no problem, thanks for replying - interesting that readyboost affected ur experience rating - i didn't realise it could do that :-)
