I know I Can Buy ram off of ebay, but I was wondering if I Could go local, to say a Compusa, or is It special secret Squirell ram that you can only get when the moon is full in the retail office of HP ?

It would be easier to Just go buy it. If I have a pet peeve, it's waiting.

Just get it where your tolerance for waiting, risk aversion and budget collide. We're talking RAM for your TC1100 right? So for stores around here - 1 gig PC 2700 DDR (NOT DDR2) is typically special order. If you are thinking about Vista then go for 1 gig and never look back wondering if it was worth $50 to have gone with 512. If you do that, you'll always wonder if you should have bit the bullet and gone with a gig.

if you have a TC1000 you probably wont find the ram you need in stores. Best bet is shopping online.
