Tried doing a search, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I'm thinking of picking up an older tablet for just note taking. I used to use a TC1000, but the Transmeta processor was too frustrating.

What are the major differences between the TC1100 model with the Centrino 1.0 GHz versus the TC1100 with the Centrino 1.2 GHz? I know the 1.2 GHz has a wireless G as well, but what about performance wise? Can you still max out the 1.0 GHz model with 2 GB of ram? Are there any other differences?

Thanks.

Hi Plasma,
The TC1100 with 1.0 came with 802.11/b but you could buy 802.11 a/b/g 1 meg level two cache
The TC1100 with 1.1 often shipped with 802.11 b/g and also had a 2 meg level two cache

The TC1100 with 1.2 - same as above.

You have to disassemble the machine to get to the first memory slot. So unless you want to do that, you'll max out by adding 1 gig in the user accessible slot (total 1.5 gig).

Although Window Vista reports
TC1100 1.0 mhz machine rating for Processor 2.4
TC1100 1.1 mhz machine rating for Processor 2.6

I see little difference in performance.

I imagine that the difference between 1.1 and 1.2 would be harder to notice.
