I have just purchased the subject unit with a keyboard and plan to use it for GPS/NAV purposes. I already have a DeLorme Streets and Maps Navigation program, a PCMCIA to CF adaptor, 1 gig CF card, and a Holux GR-271 antenna.
What other accessories are absolutely needed or recommended?
Thanks,
Bob

I used the LT C-500 for months before the "upgrade" bug hit me and I moved onto a LT P-600. I installed Microsoft Streets and Trips, had the Pharos USB GPS receiver and a power strip in the car. That's all you need. DeLorme Street Atlas has voice commands which let you speak certain commands and have the software respond. Commands include "Where am I?", "Next turn?", "Zoom In", "Pan Left", etc. For this, the tablet has to have a microphone (which I believe it does).

You won't need the CF card, once you have everything installed on the hard drive. Ask away if you have any more specific questions.

I use it for this myself, I made a platform out of cast iron pipe and a piece of pegboard. This allows me to set the ltc 500 in its base (which stays in the truck). All in all it works pretty good (I use it for mp3's and for gps and it will do both without a problem).

As saaketham said all you need is a way to get the software on the tablet (I used a portable usb hard drive to install it from). Then you are up and running.

For software I use iguidance 2.0 and an older usb gps receiver.

Thanks for both replies. At presemt I do not have an external USB CD or harddrive. May have to spring for one. But, in the interim, can I use my desktop to copy the DeLorme program to the CompactFlash card? If so, how do I then transfer it to the Stylistic hard drive?
Many thanks,
Bob

I used a usb flash drive and just copied what I needed to on the hard drive. For Iguidence I had to install the maps to a maps folder on my "c" drive.

My Stylistic LT C-500 has Windows 98 as O/S. I want to use DeLORME Streets Atlas 2006 which requires Windows 2000. Anyone out there know if 98 will work?
Thanks,
Bob
