Can someone help?

My problem:
The mouse and right/left click stopped working on the TC1000 Keyboard. The keys still register just fine.

Solutions that I've tried:

1.Connecting an external mouse; worked just fine.
2.Connecting another TC1000 stock keyboard; the keyboard didn't work.
3.Checked this forum; found one somewhat related thread for TC1100 but no solution.
4.Checked HP site; no answer found.
5.Checked TC-one-thousand site; no similar issue found.

If you have some ideas that might help, I'd really appreciate your posting. I'm fresh out of ideas myself and I don't want to send the tablet into HP. My tablet is out of warranty and I'm just about ready to sell this venerable model and replace it. When I do sell it, I would like everything to be in good working condition. TIA

Is it still under warranty? If so, I strongly suggest that you get your KB replaced.

Hi Just4Fun,

1. If it just happened, have you tried returning to a previous System Restore Point?

2. Otherwise.
Since "2.Connecting another TC1000 stock keyboard; the keyboard didn't work." we can rule out the keyboard as the issue.

I'd try setting a restore point.
Then removing the HID devices in the Control Panel.
Then rebooting to let Windows rediscover them.

WNewquay:

Thanks for your help. I hadn't thought of your solution. I just tried it. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks again for trying...

Hi out3rheaven,

Have you tried this:

1. If it just happened, have you tried returning to a previous System Restore Point?

2. Otherwise.

I'd try setting a restore point.
Then removing the HID devices in the Control Panel.
Then rebooting to let Windows rediscover them.

I had a problem with the connector on my TC1000 - I could disconnect and reconnect the keyboard a few times wiggle it around and get it to connect. Mine was fixed with a new keyboard, but if your problem is in the computer side, it might not be so easy.

I have the same issue. Both the mouse, left and right click have stopped working. I called the hp tech support and they said that my keyboard needs to be replaced. I guess that solves that problem. :P i hope
