A few questions:

1)Do I need to purchase Office XP or can I use my Office 2000?
Wanted to know if there were special aspects to Office XP that
would let me use handwriting in these applications and that would
not be possible in Office 2000?

2) I have a database created in MS Access and wanted to know if it would allow handwritten signatures on some of my forms??? Do I need to upgrade to Office XP to integrate handwriting???

3) Thinking of getting the Toshiba 3505. Any reason to wait or consider another tablet? Was high on the Acer, but have read about
many problems with crashes.

Thanks So much.

1) XP will allow installation of Office XP Pack from Microsoft website that will allow you to annotate your documents. I afraid Office 2000 cannot install the pack.

2) I not sure about that. Sorry.

3) I recommend Compaq, but if you give an idea of what you will be using it for, I can better choose and recommend you.

On the Access question. The Tablet PC SDK is a free download from Microsoft. It includes some Ink enabled ActiveX Controls that can be hosted on either Access 2000 or 2002 forms.

I also share a love of the Compaq device, but if the Toshiba feels like the right model to you go for it.

sammysams,
I too was interested in the Toshiba, looks like a great machine. The "killer" to me (and others I have talked to), is that you cannot separate the keyboard and the slate display. Lot's of people are unaware of that fact....
