I tried installing it on my TC1000 a few days ago, and got exactly the same error, both in portrait and landscape modes. I, too, would like to know in anyone has a solution.

When I read that others had actually been able to use the program, I tried installing/running it again and discovered the problem that prevented me from using the program earlier. Right click the icon after the program is installed and select the "Compatability" tab. Mine had a checkmark besides the "Run this program in compability mode for Windows 98/ME" (I didn't do this - it came installed like this!). So I unchecked it and now it works!"
What I found interesting was that almost everyone who was having problems had a non-Usa setup and I wonder if the powertoy only works with a single codepage. A sort of not-ready-for-primetime error.

OK, I've solved the problem. The problem is caused when the OS uses a non-US region. To fix the problem you need to go to control panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Regional Options tab -> English (United States).
Then i suggest you customise the settings (to use metric etc). Oh and you might want to click on Languages -> Details -> Advanced -> Turn off advanced text services (removes language icon in task bar).
spread tablet love everywhere you go.
