Re: Pros and Cons of Pen Office:
I have been using Calligrapher and Pen Office since 1997 on my PPCs and Pen Notebooks. Handwriting recognition is critical for me, and Pen Commander and the corresponding new editor, Visual Pen Commander, is a must have for me. I write macros for my medical applications that I execute with single words with a circle around it. Memorized text is a must have for repetitive procedures. Just the ability to insert a date in any medical application (via pen commander) is critical for me. The trick to handwriting recognition, at least for me, is to NOT write slanted, but to write straight up and with at least a size 12 font. I am often writing words like avascular necrosis, pathology, osteoporosis etc.
Read the www.paragraph.com site for hints on recognition. The hints really work.
Remember that MS originally licensed Transcriber for the CE, from Calligrapher.
I don't know this for a fact, but I bet the TabletPC handwriting engine is by www.paragraph.com aka www.phatware.com
Hmmm, i installed the demo but the dutch recognition is not very convincing.
