Hi, I have a new TC4200 which I like very much, but the travel battery I bought with it fit loosely with a ~ 1/2" gap where the laptop's connector was exposed. It made contact intermittently and eventually died (it wouldn't show up at all in the battery panel nor would it recharge). HP replaced the battery with a new one but it is exactly the same, fits with a gap and rattles. I searched the Web, google groups, hp's support forums and tabletpcbuzz's forums and the only mention of a similar problem I could find was this from:

Theres a connector on the bottom of the tc4200 to connect the travel battery. Mine doesn't rattle at all. It snaps into place in either the open or closed position. The gaps people are reporting don't seem to be present on my machine either.
I've contacted the author of the post but received no reply. The implication of his post is that perhaps there is some variant of the travel battery that really fits. If anyone out there has such a tight fitting travel battery, please pass along the model number or 'replace with' number. If you know of a discussion that reports problems with travel batteries fitting please pass those along. Thanks and best wishes, Mark
