So my computer FINALLY shipped and is in Louisville... but once again, like the many shipments before... Lenovo has failed to provide the proper invoicing and it is now warehoused pending the proper paperwork. The computer was supposed to be delivered today... but UPS tells me they have 647 packages ALL being held in a warehouse because IBM/Lenovo did not supply the invoicing needed. USUALLY this invoice is sent AHEAD of the shipment so the work can be processed and the shipment moved through instantly... but instead, Lenovo didn't do that... and furthermore... UPS says they didn't give the invoice WITH the shipment either... so now they are waiting to get it. This is clearly a sign of lack of experience. I am very disappointed with this whole experience of buying a computer with them... although I'm sure the product is great and I continue to look forward to it. I hope they can learn quickly from these mistakes... UPS indicated to me that they have seen this a lot lately with Lenovo... and that most other companies do not seem to have this problem. Who knows if that's true... but I do know that much of this paperwork should have been provided before the shipment was even received.

That is pretty depressing...sorry to hear that.
I am actually shocked that Lenovo didn't simply take over IBM's customs clearance procedures. I definately would have thought that they would do so.
It does appear that they don't have their "ducks in a line" when it comes to getting systems through customs right now.
Hopefully this will change very quickly.
Keep in mind that your package may show one of many customs holds, and then a few hours later it may be on a plane to your city. Keep checking the status.

thanks. lenovo did confirm that they didn't send the proper paperwork on time and therefore the delay. now the shipment said it was released by brokerage but still waiting for clearing agency clearance... whatever that is. all i know, is that lenovo has not been truthful mostly up to this point. i wonder if their ceo has any idea how screwed up this entire process has been.

This could still be in your hands tomorrow or the next day (although I do realize that a bunch of them have been delayed.)
Also, you have to realize that this is UPS that you are dealing with also. They are NOT accurate in their scans.
Here is a great example:
I had a Thinkpad on order, and UPS said: "Austin, Texas arrival scan" with a time on it. Well, the package hadn't arrived in Austin at all.
I placed a call to UPS, and they told me that it was a "logical scan" meaning....get this.....that was where the package SHOULD HAVE BEEN, not where it actually was!!!! (is that a riot or what????)
Anyhow, with UPS, the follies go on and on, so...don't give up hope, you may get it in a day or two.
Sometimes the UPS website will show a package is in xxx and the driver will pull up to your door with it.
You can't make this stuff up!!
Meanwhile, mine, which is supposed to be:
1.) on the "critical" list
2.) escalated through "notes" to be among the very soonest to ship
Sits in "packing" for almost 10 days now.
As I sit here with the stupid sleeve, and a box with OneNote, I am starting to feel REALLY DUMB for waiting on and on for this order.
Going on 7 weeks now since order date. (7/11)
I did not get the low, low price. I ordered the day after that ended.
