When I resume from Standby or Hibernation, I find that the Journal toolbars which were open (i.e., selected under View / Toolbars) are gone. In other words, all the toolbars disappear, and I have to manually open them again.

Am I the only one with this problem? Does anyone know the fix?

I have also had peculiar disappearing Journal toolbar activity. But I've not been able to consistently replicate it. I had never associated it with standby. I'll start paying more attention.

I have the same problem with toolbars not retaining their "view" setting but I just tried it with Standby and could not make it happen.

I've noticed this too, but I could swear it was after a reboot, but I may have been in stand by mode prior to the reboot.

I guess the problem arises only with Hibernation. I thought it arose with Stand By as well because the problem occurs so often for me, but now I think that is only because my Stand By so often leads to Hibernation under my usual power settings.

Can any of you replicate the problem with Hibernation?

I was unable to duplicate it by hibernating just now. But my extra toolbars were turned off when I loaded it up to start the test. This was not how I left them last time i used WJ.

PS: If anyone who develops windows journal is reading this I would like to see some drawing tools a la paint. I'm terrible at making a straight line.

Under the actions menu item, you can convert drawings to straight lines, circles or squares.

Use the menu you say? Interesting Idea! It works!

I'd still like to see some drawing buttons but that does the trick.

Thanks

You mean like the drawing toolbar in Office apps? would be nice.

Raises an interesting question about the line between "ink" apps and keyboard apps.
