After much deliberation, I finally ordered my T4010D yesterday from portableone thanks to you guys answering all of my inane questions hehe :D. I got:

745 1.8GHz cpu
SXGA+ monitor
DVD burner
60GB 7200rpm hdd
3 year warranty
1 GB Kingmax DDR memory from Newegg
Modular bay battery from Fujitsu
Pen tether from Fujitsu

I might end up ordering another 1GB stick from Newegg if my first gig isnt enough. What bothers me right now is that Fujitsu told me my order from them (mod bay battery and pen tether) will ship on July 5! My credit card was already charged, and I don't understand why it would take TWO WEEKS to ship those two little things :-(. Fujitsu also didn't even bother to send me an email confirming my order or anything, I had to go to their website to find my order status :(.

SO, I guess I could either wait an extra 2 weeks for Fujitsu to get its act together and ship me my stuff, or I could cancel that order (can I?) and order the mod bay battery from portableone. But then portableone doesn't seem to have the pen tether. Does the T4010D come with a pen tether (I assume not), and if not is it worth having?

Oh, and also, if I receive my T4010D and it has a bunch of dead pixels, will the warranty cover that? Or would I just have to return it and order a new one? Thanks guys.

Your situation sounds similar to mine. I just ordered a modular battery for my 4010D and saw the same ship date of July 5.

I also ordered the same system last month with the exception of the indoor/outdoor screen. My lapop took three weeks for delivery! I finally received my 4010D and am very pleased with it. It's worth the wait. I called to register my Fujitsu the night that I received it. The tech support guy told me that it was only 12 days old!

Once the laptop shipped from Fujitsu, it went to Portable One. It spent a few days at Portable One, during which I believe they performed some of the upgrades, such as the hard drive.

So unless Portable One has decided to spend a lot of money keeping a whole bunch of 4010D in their inventory, you'll probably end up waiting just as long for your laptop as you will for the battery.

I didn't order the pen tether. (I forgot!) The laptop actually comes with a pen tether (without the swivel). I didn't use the tether, as it appears that the tether would look like a piece of string connecting my pen to the side of the screen. (Not too stylish.)

I did order the new Vikuti screen protector. It did make a big difference in the image quality. Go figure, I got the screen protectors in 2 days, long before my laptop arrived.

Good Luck!

Thanks mqualia,

I guess I'll just wait for Fujitsu to send me the mod bay battery and pen tether. Hmm if the included pen tether looks fugly I hope at least the deluxe pen tether is a little more stylish, though I'm not sure how stylish a piece of string can be.

But are the Vikuiti screen protectors really that good? I was about to get a 5 pack until I saw the price (I think around $80?), so I figured I would get them after the included screen protectors wore out.

I purchased my Fujitsu 4010D directly from Fujitsu and got it within a few days. No complaints at all.
Got it with the modular battery as well. (Found a battery charger on Ebay a while ago.)
I am probably going to get another Tablet, and if it's the Fujitsu, would not have any hesitation in ordering directly from Fujitsu again.

Yea I would normally have purchased from Fujitsu except Portableone was a few hundred dollars cheaper and offered some things that Fujitsu didn't, like the 60GB 7000rpm hard drive. :D

Were you able to get the 3 year LCD warranty (replace LCD screen no questions asked)?
Some resellers didn't offer this, and I didn't feel like hunting around that much to find one that did.
I really like my Fujitsu so far. I wanted to stick with the 5400rpm drive. I am particularly bothered by hot Tablets and I figured the faster the drive spins, the more heat it generates. As it is my Fujitsu with a 5400RPM dirve gets uncomfortably hot at times (as does my Acer C111.)
Haven't decided on a screen protector yet, and currently I'm not using one.

I bought my T4010 from PortableOne and two weeks later I order from them the three years LCD warranty.
I have the 7200 rpm hard disk and I do not have heat problem if I do not block the vents.

Good Lord will it really take 3 weeks for my tablet to arrive? I ordered it June 21 from Portableone custom made, so I guess it'll be here by uhhh July 12th? Please someone tell me it'll be here sooner!
