Hello Everyone,

My wife has recently been stealing my TC1000 more and more often in the evenings for surfing. I'm just about to the point where I need to buy one for her so I can have unfettered access to mine. :D

So, this morning I woke up to find my wife wide awake. This NEVER happens. So, I asked her "Didn't you sleep well, honey?" She replied, "No. For some reason, my left shoulder and neck hurt and I couldn't get comfortable."

My wife is 4 months pregnant, so at first we didn't think much of this, but later we realized that she did spend about 3 hours surfing for nursery stuff online with the TC1000! It looks like she needs to build up some strength in those muscles if she plans to continue surfing in slate mode for hours on end. [B)]

So, ease into your Tablet use, and avoid "tablet arm."

I agree. At least follow some basic safety practices:

-if you feel any pain or numbness stop what you are doing right away
-take frequent short breaks (put the tablet down and walk around a bit)

Eventhough 3 lbs isn't that heavy, holding it in unnatural way for too long can cause damage.

Ha, wait until she's carrying around a baby. That tablet will truely be like paper then.

I have experienced a similiar thing, but I'll call it "Tablet Hand". No pain in my arm, but my fingers get cramped after holding them curled around the corner of the tablet when sitting up in a chair on on the bed! Same holds here for anything I guess -- moderation is the key (but that is hard with a tablet!)!

Yea, I don't see it as a problem. It was just humorous. Brammerf is right, the tablet should be good training for the impending kid.

Yeah -- if she's not sleeping well because of pregnancy, it's his fault anyway! :P

I wouldn't hold one of these close to the unborn child as the voltage converter puts out a tremendous field that drops of dramaticaly with distance but this close is not a good idea. The Cpu apparently also is puming out fields ( not sure what goes on here)

Fields can cause bleeding (like with ulcers).

note: There's lot's of conficting data on this (lot's of research by power companies wich says it's totally safe) :D

I'd like to think that in order to get FCC consumer certification they would here to put out very low emissions. I really don't think the Tablet could harm a fetus. Better safe than sorry though. Perhaps this could be my excuse to get my tablet back.

As someone pointed out, the baby is lot heavi=er than the tablet. Clearly babies are a danger and require consumer certification of several sorts. My own experience as a father has been that there are all sorts of dangerous emissions from babies - high decibel readings, raw sewage, noxious vapours. They are also heavy, cause stress, burnout and interfere with sleep. The economic damgae alone should mean that you can sue your obstetrician. Hold one of those baby babies next to an unborn baby - you'd have to be joking, mate!

The government should do something.

Yes Rod I know that about babies :)

To elaborate on the paranoia and raise further alarm:

I have a Sony Picturebook. I used to play with it lying on the bed with it resting more or less on my stomach (it's very small). At that time I discovered that I would wake up in the morning with very serious stomach pain the result of which I attributed to a resurgence of an ulcer that had been dormant for about ten years.

I didn't connect the two events untill I noticed the correlation after about three similar episodes seperated by periods of weeks. Every time I would hold this computer close to my stomach I would wake up with ulceration.

Coincidence? perhaps.

note( or maybe it's just the worrying about elctric fields that gives me the ulcer?):D

Next generation babies or Baby v2 as they are commonly known rectifies all the above problems, but you have to upgrade (Costs extra) :D
