Mr. Scoble, any idea when we might expect to see the LitePad in brick and mortar stores, and which ones?

Not very likely anytime soon. My division only sells through 800#/Internet retailers like Amazon.com, PCConnection.com, or CDW.com.

We also sell through a variety of resellers (listed here: http://www.neccomp.com/partners/ ) and we're happy to announce a new reseller: Infocater (which sells mostly Tablets). Any of these folks will be able to order and get you NEC Versa LitePads as well.

We're evaluating brick and mortar stores, but really aren't setup to do that (retail is VERY expensive -- getting shelf space at Fry's, for instance, costs thousands of dollars per store and the profit margins we're making just don't make that a viable business choice right now.

I have seen NEC MobilePro P300 Pocket PCs at Staples but that's about it for NEC computer products (other than monitors which I take is a completely separate division).

Reminds me...
OFF TOPIC: Scoble, you had indicated a while back that NEC was committed to its handheld line and would be releasing some new models at some point. Do you have any news on that or is it all NDA stuff. Can we expect anything new anytime soon? I had a P300 for a while. I loved it except for the awful battery which ultimately forced me to give it up. Would love to see an updated model with a bigger removable battery and some form of wireless connection built-in.
