I wish that the Notes option worked more like Journal. For example:
(1) It would be nice to have the ability to add space to a page
(not just add an entire page)
(2) It would be great if all Journal files could be organized
under the tabs. That is, allow one to link a list of certain
journal files (which are stored elsewhere, such as in the usual
My Notes folder).
(3) How about the ability to save a note as a file (in .jnt format)?
(4) I was surprised when I opened up a .jnt file in Journal and
printed it with the Franklin-Covey printer -- the results,
when viewed in TabletPlanner, were terrible. I had assumed that
it would look the same in TabletPlanner as it did in Journal.
If the Notes could be made more journal-like, allowing movement
back & forth between the two applications (TabletPlanner and Journal),
then I could see using TabletPlanner for *all* my notetaking needs. Then it would be an awesome app! As it is, I will be still using Journal for most of my notetaking needs.

They should also add the ability to create and manage Checklists. For example to put down and then check off shopping lists or lists of things to pack on a trip. They could be managed in a way similar to Daily Tasks.

I agree with you totally. I have been trying the new 2.0 trial version, but will probably wait until your suggestions are implemented. I especially need the ability to add space. I will stick with separate Journal and Outlook programs for now.

I'm just getting used to 2.0. Just wanted to say IT'S GREAT that a developer is giving credence to support groups as i think it shows your interest in "our" opinion. wish i could say the same about medical spe******ts who totally ignore disease-related patient support groups at yahoogroups. know it's off topic, and sorry, but glad to see your input!!

I don't want to speak for Bishop, but his request for linking reminded me of something I'd like to see in TabletPlanner....
I'd like to be able to create a link in a to-do item to a particular document in a tab. For example, if you opened the to-do item there might be an icon representing a word doc that's in your 'meetings' tab. By clicking the icon, you could open that document.

Both had the ability to create a "link" between various items. Then when opening any one of the items, you could view a list of linked items. Outlook tried with journaling but wound up with something too restrictive to be helpful.

More Info from Silverware on the Newton was an impressive application of linking between notes, contacts, tasks and schedule information. They have a simplified version for Palm called LinkPak, but it lacks some of the depth of the Newton version due to limitations of the Palm OS.

Bishop,
I used to use Packrat, and I really liked the tab interface. I am hoping OneNote will allow me to work similar, but Tablet Planner is getting close. If we could link tasks and appointments to documents, that would be great. (In fact, I would like to link a task to an appointment, but...) As it is now, I have to write a line in the Notes section of the meeting that says "See 'x doc' for detail". Since I bring the Tablet with me, if I could link to the doc just by clicking a link icon, that would be ideal.
Glad to see your presence here, Jarron!

For TabletPlanner -- it would be very nice if appointments could
have different colored backgrounds. That is, I could put all
my work appointments with a yellow background, my social appointments
with a blue background, etc., etc.. Or else use different icons?
It would definitely make it easier to quickly find activities
when looking at the monthly or weekly calendar.
Also, it would be nice to have the option of the 'week calendar'
always starting with today's date.
All of the above options are available in standard calendar-type
software (PocketInformant, AgendaFusion, etc.) for pocketpcs.
I guess I've gotten a little spoiled because software for the pocketpc is better developed than for the tabletpc!
Creating meeting events directly from Contacts or the Contact List.
Once I've imported my Outlook contact list, I'd like to be able to schedule meeting events with those contacts.
In my work, I might have 5-7 meetings/day with people in my contact list. Right now, in ver. 2 I have only figured out how to schedule meetings, but not how to schedule meetings with contacts.
If anyone knows how to do that in ver. 2, I'd like to know how. Otherwise, it's a request for v3.

I wish we could get the ability to simply redirect the location of the automated backups. I have tried to change this via the registry but without luck. Currently I have to use a bat file to redirect the >pln to my backup drive on my network. It is nice that the proces is automated to do the backup, but a simple code change would let us select this location.

also, it would be helpful to confine searches to a tab (e.g., searching on just contacts). Alternatively, at least the search report should identify the nature of the found item.
love2lindy

In the Contacts tab, one has to physically edit the 'file-as' field if it's not correct -- i.e., erase and start over. A number of other PIM-type software packages instead have a pull-down tab with various permutations of the contact name; this usually always contains the 'file-as' choice you'd like to make. Seems like this wouldn't be that difficult to implement.

V3 Requests:
I've been using version 2 for a while now and will probably buy when the trial runs out.
I'd like to request contact linking to tasks and activities as well. This would allow me to quickly look up a contact number when I have a Call task.
I'd like to see general speed improvments as well sometimes after making a lot of changes to a days task list it can take 30 seconds for the save to be accpeted.

(1)The ability to zoom in on the calendar (weekly) in landscape mode. The zoom only affects the note side.

(3) Easier deleting, like dragging to trash can in Organizer.
(4) Mentioned already, but definitely needed, the ability to link to journal files.

On link Notes & Tasks and contacts
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
WHY?
Think about how you take notes in general not just on the FP software. You write a comment, observation, fact, etc. And you write todo's. All mixed together. The notes are meeting specfic, client specfic, project specfic, etc. Sometimes a task or Note relates to a Contact.
So I would love to be taking Notes and add a task directly in the Note. So I would see the task in 2 places. It would be in the Note and also on the task list.
Also if the Note or Task was related to a contact - I would see it under the contact.
It is all about connections. The process must be simply and flexable. Give us multiple ways to create the links.
I would also think about adding projects to the list (notes, task, projects).
Projects are just a way of categorizing - Notes and task - nothing more complicated needed.
Thanks - you have the start of the next killer app.
Does it have a planner?
The old Lotus Organizer, at least when it ws made by I forget who they boutght it from, used to have a very simple planner.
You could set up a yearly planner for differnt projects and assign different colours to differnt tasks. HTen you cluld schedule these with other people so that some planners or some tasks were shared.

I'd like a way to separate my personal Daily Tasks from my business Daily Tasks.
In the paper-based world, I would use the top of the Task List and work my way down for my business tasks and start at the bottom and work my way up for my personal tasks.

I would like to see a lower price.
I wonder if Franklin Covey can get some feedback on the price of Tablet Planner. If three times as many people would buy it if it was 25% less expensive it would be worth their while to lower the price (given that software is inexpensive to mass produce)

There is limited -- very limited -- email functionality. There is an icon associated with each contact. Clicking on that icon will allow you to send email to that contact -- through Outlook. But no logs within the program.
I know the program has a number of critics, but I am quite fond of the program. Could it be better? Yes, it could -- like just about every other software program I have ever purchased. Is there missing functionality that would be highly desirable? Yes, and I hope this functionality will be added as the program matures.
The real trick for FranklinCovey will be to create a niche that is fairly safe from other competitors -- such as Microsoft.
Should download the trial -- if not already on your computer -- and give it a try.

Just bought TabletPlanner.
My trial had expired and I got Franklin Covey's phone rep to match the lowest price I had found online - 99.95 - they gave me the serial over the phone.
My Feature Requests (so far):
Category support - the A, B, C thing is OK, but I would like an additional column to sort tasks by category, automatic color coding of these would be nice as well ( I know I can do this now with the highlighter)
Linking other files to tasks - It would be neat to be able to link other files to tasks/appointments. For example, an appointment for a meeting - when you show up you just open that appointment and the associated documents (whereever they are on your hard drive) appear as links within the appointment, so you don't have to go searching for related documents.
That's it for now!

Here are my thoughts after using the full version for about a week. If I suggest something it already does please tell me how to do it.
1. The ability to copy the contins of an excel file into a tab. The key here is still show in cells not just all the text pushed together. I should also add Word as well.
2. Ability to copy ink notes from other apps into the notes of a day.
3. Maybe I have not spent enough time with it but. As a true organizer we should have the ability to add other files to contacts. Also we should be able to have employee's of a company listed and location. Then be able to add files. Like quotes or presetations.
I should be able to view a contact and see all contacts with that person. Now I know I'm describing a CRM program but this is my two cents.
Thanks,
Corey

i really love the product ...in V3 i would like to see the following:
i) Ability to customise notes.
ii) Ability to insert images in to notes and calander.
iii) Ability to attach documents or other files into calendar or embed them into a note.
iv) The ability to view my database on my other non-tablet PC...maybe by using a viewer or having the ability to load Tablet Planner on other versions of Windows.
i really do rate this product and look forward to future developments.

Is anyone else having trouble synchronizing Appointment and Task Notes of TabletPlanner with MS Outlook 2002? If I take notes on the TabletPlanner (v2.0 SP2 Build 156) and sync with Outlook, the notes show up as an unknown filetype with name something like
DO_NOT_DELETE TabletPlanner InkNote.1pn
Why do I want this? I sync my Palm with Outlook, and it would be nice to have the Notes on the Palm when I don't have my TabletPC with me.
This happens not just when the note is ink note, but even when 100% typed in. Perhaps by default the TabletPlanner software considers all notes to be of type ink and saves them in a format that cannot be ported to Outlook. I called tech support at Franklin Covey, and they were suprised that they were able to reproduce the exact same issue. Their suggestion (a month+ ago) was to wait for the next update - haven't seen any so far.
Has anyone found a workaround?
Bishop

I've noticed the same artifact, and I don't know of a workaround.
But since I've stopped using Outlook for calendaring and tasks in favor of TabletPlanner, the Outlook sync is just doubling as backup for me.
Bring on the update.

I have been using TabletPlanner for about 2 months. The database file is over 112 MB. It would be helpful to be able to archive older entries and/or be able to split off data under a tab that is no longer used or old calendar or task data, without losing the data forever, in case it needs to be reviewed or used in the future.

I have been using the licensed 2.0 for about 3 months, and the beta of 2.1 for about a month. Some general feedback:
- why do I have 4x70MB backup files? I believe in being safe, but let ME decide how safe. Also, let me decide where do put them.
- I take notes in meetings all day long. What I really need is a way to highlight ink that is a task for someone else, and be able to send it to them as a task, AND have it show up in my task list as a delegated task. That would close a loop that today cost me hours to manage.
- We need to ability to drop images, html, live URL's, etc. into the middle of notes we are working on, and still be able to ink all around it.
I think that the current product is a great start, but there is a lot of competition coming down the road.

It would be very helpful to be able to print all the notes organized under a tab. Even more helpful to be able to export them to another database, so that the size of the main tablet planner database could be reduced.
E-mailing notes through Outlook would be very helpful.

I've been using Tablet Planner since march. Here's my 2 cents...
1. Should be able to change screen fonts . Font is too large in landscape mode.
2. Should be able to change fonts of printed output. Fonts are much too large.
3. Weekly Calendar is illegible in landscape mode.
4. Should have an Option to "View All Tasks".
5. Need Recurring Tasks as in Outlook.
6. Need Categories as in Outlook.
7. Relationship between Outlook & Planner Tasks not explained (i.e. Planner only shows tasks on date due unless Master task unlike Outlook which shows all tasks. this led me to believe tasks were not syncing correctly).
8. Searches produce unneeded information. should be able to limit searches to contacts, tasks, appointments, or all.
9. It would be great if user could drag & drop to change task priorities.
10. Planner and Outlook Notes do not sync.
11. Need capability to email Notes, Tasks, Appointments and Contacts.
12. Should have capability to link any file to a Note, Task, Appointment or Contact.
13. Need ability to link from one element of the planner to
other planner elements. i.e Put a Contact link in a Task, Appointment or Note.
14. Would like ability to erase or move parts of documents "printed" to Notes using the Planner Printer (eBinder).
15. Ink selection tool is blindingly slow.
16. Need ability to re-size or arrange program "panes".
17. Lacking #16, the ability to fix the zoom level of Daily Notes.
I would suggest frequent, even if minor, program updates vs. rare if major updates. In my opinion more frequent updates with some improvement each time tends to keep users interested and therefore using and recommending the program.

Wonder if that is a timing thing (later, just not now) or a commitment question (do we really want to invest any more in this app).

I have it from a very good source that there is a TabletPlanner 3.0 in the works and beta testing will begin in the near future.

Hmm...looks like two different takes on an update. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no plans for a version 3. Look at their Outlook Planning software. It is a dog of a product (really slow) and has been at the current version level for quite sometime.
Makes you really wonder.

Well, I stand corrected...I got an e-mail today from someone at Franklin assuring me that they are working on a version 3 and asked if I wanted to be a beta tester (um...NO).
Apparently, Franklin does not communicate very well among it's different departments because the person I spoke with just a few days ago in their technical services stated that there is no Version 3 in the works...and the person who interviewed me from Franklin who wanted a quote from me about a month ago stated that he had "no knowledge of another version at any future date."...
SO...the bottom line is, we can all cross our fingers and hope.
And as to the Outlook Planning software...wow, I agree on that one, Rob...Once I installed PlanPlus for Outlook my system went into a CRAWL when I tried to use outlook...after a few days i couldn't take it anymore and found I could NOT UNINSTALL it, and had to completely delete outlook and re-install it to remove the FC software.

I just wish it would stop changing the times of my appointments. I set an appointment for 1pm, come to it a few days later and it says it's @ 2pm. It actually changed an entire months schedule on me the other day. Pain the butt!

This sounds like a system clock issue. The program tries to adjust time to compensate for time zone changes. For example, let's suppose I have my system clock set to Central time and schedule a call for 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on August 12. If I change my system clock to Pacific time (i.e., set my clock back two hours), when I next reopen TabletPlanner it will have "moved" the appointment to 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. If I reset the clock to Central time, it will "move" the call back to the 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. slot.

Hello all,
Thank you for your support and feedback! We value your suggestions and reactions placed on this forum. We are excited to announce that the next major release of TabletPlanner is well under way. We think we've done a great job in addressing feature requests from our users.
We have substantial committments to regularly providing TabletPlanner updates and new releases as the Tablet PC platform evolves. We have an aggressive long-term roadmap in place for TabletPlanner that we think will maintain it's place as the "must have" application for the Tablet PC.

Any chance of giving us some hints as to what new features are going to be included in version 3.
Personally I am seriously looking at making the switch to OneNote/Outlook 2003 combination due to the sync issues as well as the fact that as my planner file size has now grown to over 100MB opening closing searching and backing up the database keeps taking longer and longer.
I keep getting the auto update for version 2.0 SP2 upon opening. I have tried to download and install many times. Download goes fine and then near end of installation I start getting messages saying the file has been installed---for many files. I have tried all options. End result is both no installation and continued auto updates coming up each time. My original install was from 2.0 disks. Any help in making it stop insisisting I install the SP2 and then not being able to install it?

It would be great if you could turn the typed notes into editable text, or save them as a word or other text document.
Also, being able to simple move a doc for any application into a notes tab would be good.

From my wish list[eureka]
- Mutli timezone support on the planner view. I set meetings in many countries and need to see the zones on the schedule
- Ditto the whole linking thing between major TP areas
- 'Left button' features the hilite text and then make appointments/tasks/contacts from it. Even better would be to still link to the original
- Consider looking the the 'Franklin Covey' method on the notes page. The way I learned we would put a number by each meeting and then use that as a reference in other items like tasks. Allowing me to do that would be nice.
- There is more to the world than outlook. How about syncing with other calendar systems. I'd really like options with something like Intellesync to sync with tools like Yahoo
- Basic forms support. I'd like to have things like the FP forms for meetings, projects, and others and actually be able to fill them out.
- Ditto on the little updates and feature adds. FP never seems to get that right.
- How about syncing with the other FP tools like PP for Outlook?
- An option to 'autotimestamp' an entry. Like a notepad file with a .log extention that will insert the date/time when the page is opened. This would be great for keeping track of time.
I've used this for a week now so I expect after a month I will have more.

This is going to be a little hard to describe.
I would like to see the ability to place an amount of time that you intend on spending on a task when you create a task. For example, if I am going to work on a lecture for a class I teach, I might plan to spend about 2 hours on a certain day working on the lecture. If the tablet planner also supported a function to identify hours of the days I have listed that have nothing scheduled (of a set time frame of my choosing). For example, lets say on Monday between 8:00 am and 5:00pm I already have an appointment scheduled from 12:00 pm to 5:00pm, then it would list that Monday has 4 hours open (8:00 am to 12:00 pm). It would list this information for every day. Then, when I am looking to schedule a master task to a certain day, it would deduct the time from the total for each task I assign that day. So after I would schedule that 2 hour task to Monday, it would report that Monday has 2 hours of free time left. This would aide greatly in deciding when to schedule my priority tasks. It would also keep me at task for that time that I have schedule to work on that lecture knowing that I only budgeted 2 hours for this. In other words, I would like to see the program include a time free counter for every day and allow one to assign times to each task. Hope that was clear.:D

OK, its probably been said but to me its worth repeating:
1) Add the ability to link items. For instance, I often take notes in a meeting by tapping on the meeting in the calender and using the notes pages. Later, I'd like to be able to drag that appointment (and its notes pages) onto a tab. The result would be a link to the appointment appearing under the Tab. (I do not want to entirely move the appontment to the tab, removing it from the calender, - that would take away my ability to go back and track time spent, etc.).
2) Synch with my palm. Not everyone uses outlook. The only path to synch now is TP to outlook, over to Yahoo and back as a Palm file, then into the Palm. I did it once, but eventually one will have to go, TP or the Palm, and if other planner packages come out that have Palm support, well....
Thanks to Franklin Covey for monitoring this board-
p.s. whoever suggested being able to create a task in the middle of some meeting notes, and have it appear as a task in the to do list- excellent suggestion.

Actually, all you have to do is sync with outlook. Then my palm software (with the m515) allows me to sync my palm directly with outlook. So it is only 2 steps.

Likewise, I use a two-step process to sync my RIM Blackberry with TabletPlanner. I sync TabletPlanner with Outlook, then I sync Outlook with the Blackberry. (Of course, if the most recent changes were made in the Blackberry device, I switch the workflow -- syncing the Blackberry with Outlook first.) I would prefer not to use a two-step process, but the extra step only takes a minute or so.

As threatened, more feedback now that I've used 2.0/2.1 for a few weeks...Sure I'm repeating myself and others, but so what
1) RELIABILITY AND SPEEED! I've had the thing drop stuff and crash a few times which is embarrasing when you are trying to go paperless.[borg] In general this should always be capability #1
2) Need the linking even more, including the abillity to have the same task/note/contact/event be linked to mulitple tabs. I've got projects where the overlaps are the key and crosslinking here would help[8]
3) Better syncing options. The way data end up in the outline sync option inflates outlook too much so I've stopped syncing tasks. There has to be a better way. Syncing by the by is another area I'd like more robust reliability. Too many times I end up with duplicated or missing appointments.
4) Forms support. I like the franklin forms, and I'd like to be able to actually use them. I'd also like to design my own and e able to fill them in as well.
5) Cut and paste. It would be nice to converge the capability of Journal with the notes area on any fp entity (but NOT onenote, PLEASE!!!!)
6) Drag and drop - much like linking - see my previous comment. My objective here is to have everything 'visible' through fp tabs, tasks, or calendar events...it's my planner and my guide!
7) Copy the goals tasks method from pp for outlook. I like being able to top down and tie this stuff together.
8) Next time you do a 'dot' release, don't over write the registration code. MAJOR PANIC as I looked everywhere to find my original install CD.
9) Can I change the colors, please? While the psych guys next door say blue is calming, I read that as depressing.
10) How about zoom? Can I have zoom when I am looking at stuff through the tabs 'print to covey' process? I'm not as young as I pretent to be.
I've not dropped it yet for just straight Journal, but it has beed trying on occassion.

The major prob with all calendar progrs, IMHOP, is that the month calendar view and the week calendar view simply line up the appointmsnts. IN the old days, I could glance at the monthly handwritten calendar and see if I had free time in the AM. Now, a 7PM appt shows up at the top of the box. Anyone else see this as a frustration? It's a major prob for me.

My company uses Lotus Notes for all calendars/scheduling, and requires us to use it. The only way I can see to sync is to transfer from Notes to my Palm, Palm to Outlook, Outlook to TabletPlanner. And so on...But it seems that Franklin has no plans to support direct Lotus Notes synchronization..:-(

I installed the beta last night. They have tried to integrate all the Franklin-Covey methodology onto the product. This seems to me the biggest area that has been worked on.
The product does allow folders within tabs, and folders with folders, etc., which allows a very deep level of organization. I would have liked it better if they had provided an "explorer" type view so you could see how the "tree" of documents etc. flowed under each tab.
They also seem to have inherited the onenote habit of breaking words that you write into separate little boxes. These little boxes can then be dragged around the page, etc. I, for one, don't really have a major need to rearrange my notes in that manner. I know that it might be useful in some instances, but in the main, not.
I would love to see them develop this product on two tracks. One would be the planner (with OPTIONAL Franklin-Covey method), and the other would be the eBinder. The eBinder would be a direct competitor to OneNote. If they could improve the visual organization, and allow the placement of flags within notes, they would beat OneNote hands down at this point.
That is my initial impression after playing around with it for half an hour or so...

I would like:
The ability to view my database on my other non-tablet PC...maybe by using a viewer or having the ability to load Tablet Planner on other versions of Windows. So if my tablet crashes I can still view my notes.
Smaller database or separate note files
Save As or Export to other formats.
A cheaper price - I cannot buy it at its current price.

I vote for: better conversion software, the ability to cut and paste the WHOLE document into another program, and getting rid of mandatory textbox like apparitions and allowing everything to be justified to the left for those who want "pretty" text documents. And, they need the converted text to be condensed onto upper pages, so there aren't like 3 lines per page after conversion.

And could they make the date showing in the upper left calendar corner the day it IS, not the Sunday of the week it is.

Some of this has been said but maybe I am stating it a little different. Instead of the appt or task detail page having notes in it that are seperate from the daily view, they should actually be a mirror image of what was written in the note page for that day. That section can be linked to a task or appt or contact even. A task, appt, or contact detail would then have the collection of those sections that were linked to it (many to many). That way they are in both places for reference.
Also, to be able to put due dates on tasks with maybe auto incrmenting priorities. As a project gets closer to its due date it becomes more critical.
EDIT: Ooo , ooo and also projects that tasks, appts, and notes can link to. It could even be as extensive as to look like a whole copy of the calender, tasks and notes that only pertain to that project. Also a summary view and an option if anything pertaining to this project should show up on the general system. So if I have 100 small tasks for a application I'm writing those will only show up if I'm in the Widget Project, but my personal project will show up for the general view with color coding(so I remember to pay my bills).

One last cool thing about the global project. When a project is done...everything pertaining to it could be extracted, archived, and removed from your planner (easily gotten to but not increasing your file size).

I was going to say...
This product is great... and it has a lot of promise. I intend to continue using it just because it does such a good job of getting me back to the routine of using my Dayplanner like I did when it was on paper. I never was able to fully implement the Franklin system electronically with the previous tools. This in and of itself is of GREAT value. However, there are, as I'm sure you know, many things that can be done to improve the software. I hope this list is of assistance to you...
But since I purchased PlanPlus 2.0, many of my needs have been met. Now, if DRE, PowerNotes, and all Mission, Role and Goal stuff would synch between the two, plus I got my wish list from below, then I'd really be happy.
Here's my TabletPlanner wishlist:
- There should be no fields that REQUIRE pen entry. All fields should be both pen AND mouse/keyboard friendly.
- The contact list contains no feature, as in Outlook, to easily type in a name and have it do a quick search.
- The info tabs should allow actual embedding of docuements instead of just printing them. Printing them leads to the need not only to update the document, but to also reprint it and replace the old one in the Tablet Planner. Embedded (OLE) docs or snippets would update themselves as source is updated, else hould at least be able to attach documents or link to documents. At the VERY LEAST, the software should allow one to create live links to documents and web sites.
- The notepade doesn't allow standard Windows navigation... i.e. Ctrl+Arrow should move cursor left or right a whole word at a time, but it doesn't.
- There should the be choice for tasks to complete them AND forward them to a future date.
- Needs MUCH more Microsoft Office integration. For instance, how would I easily convert this note to a Word document, or email it (especially to a non windows user who doesn't have Journal Viewer)?
- No recurring tasks? What were you thinking?
- Reorder tasks by dragging?
- Schedule appointment or task from contact item.
- See list of appointments or tasks by contact.
- get to contact record from task or appointment to make notes, look up or change info, etc.
- Synching of DRE or notes to Outlook
- Way to synch with Palm
- Outlining functionality
PlanPlus does everything I want, sort of. Not sure what I need TabletPlanner for anymore since it came along... maybe your new version will give me a reason.

Here's my list for V4 (it's a little too late to ask for V3 stuff, eh;) )
1. Recurring tasks
2. Categories for grouping project-specific items (tasks, appointments, contacts)
3. Auto-reorder of tasks by drag-drop (i like the drag-drop reorder of a single task)
4. Refined searching (Search by tab) Wasn't such an issue when I had small volume in my planner, but now that I've got a bunch of reference material in there, I get a lot more hits than I used to.
I'm sure I'll have more the more I used it...

I'd like to throw in my vote for categorizing tasks - so I can look at business related tasks during the day and then switch to personal stuff after work.
Oh, and email functionality . . .
Trying out 3.0, loving it so far . . .

I have stated this before but want to again because I would like to be able to utilize TP3.
1. Need to be able to seamlessly and fully import contact, task and calendar info from ACT!6 to TP3.
2. I use a desktop, notebook and tablet. As a minimum, I would want TP3 to run on the desktop and tablet. Would want to directly and seamlessly sync TP3 between the two computers. Can't do this now. Have to go tablet TP3 to Outlook (on the tablet) to Outlook (on the desktop) to TP3 on the desktop or vice versa. Syncing Outlook between two computers sucks at best. I would add that it is relatively easy to sync ACT! between multiple computers (both database and multiple users).
3. On the whole, I wish Covey would just develop this product without relying on Outlook for it to work. Forget Outlook, it is rinky dink contact manager at best not suitable IMHO (and experience) to the demands of a larger and more robust business data base. Covey should build sync capabilities and email capabilities into their Tablet Planner product and keep Outlook where it belongs...on the original installation CD. It would seem to me that Covey is severely limiting their potential Customer base by not providing integration with other PIM packages and other email utilities (such as Eudora which is very popular in the business world).

Here's hoping some one from AGILIX [unworthy]is still listening even through TP3 is out...which I use and REALLY like (mostly).
I want to create a few forms on my own. There seems to be an XML schema for doing this and a file for making them available when you create a new note but Franklin Covey support has no clue or documentation. I am hoping some one from A does and could post or send it? You might even CC the FC support team.
Help appreciated....
Now let's start the FP4 comments....

Sticky notes seems useless to me until they put a timer-alarm feature in it. What good is a note if I have to page through them - it might as well be on my task list - am I missing something?

I'm using version 3 and find it a pleasure to use. Great product!
In version 4 I would like to see:
- Ability to voice record meetings like in OneNote
- The capability to write telephone notes for calls to a specific contact.
- A journaling feature similar to Outlook that allows me to see a history of telephone calls, meetings, Note pages, tasks associated with an individual contact.
- Add-on theme packs - Leadership, Seasons, etc. similar to the different Paper Planner Packages that are available

One feature that I'd like see is the ability to enter hyperlinks to both files on the disk, as well as to websites. This way users could 'log' the files they are working on and connect directly, using TabletPlanner as a central hub.

Forgive me if this has been asked already. If you've already done the 30-day trial of an older version of TabletPlanner (v2.0) does this preclude you from trying the latest version (v3.0)?
Thanks,

I think you won't be able to run the TP3 trial if your TP2 trial has already expired. I ran the preinstalled TP2 trial once last Thursday. When I installed the TP3 trial today, it said I have 26 days left, not 30, so they seem to use the same counter.

Hi,
TIME BUDGETING! That is REALLY missing in all PIMs I know of.
Someone else mentioned a similar thing before, but here it goes:
I often have tasks upcoming in several months for which I can give fairly accurate estimates of required time. These tasks can be completed any time within, say, a four weeks period (so they are tasks, not appointements).
I'd like to be able to quickly decide whether I can accept such a task myself or have to delegate it based on a TIME BUDGET! The PIM should know about the amount of free time available between start date and due date of a month and tell me whether during that period, there is enough work time availabe (need not be continuous) to match the requirement.
I know lots of people who would pay dearly for such a feature!!!
