I'm after a tablet for book reading and web browsing. What's the smallest available tablet with a full 1024x768 (XGA) display?

Everything I've had my hands on so far just seems to be as bulky as a laptop with the screen on backwards.

The Compaq TPC is the overall "smallest" unit, tho not the thinnest.

What units have you had hands-on with so far?

I've handled a model from Toshiba and a model from (I believe) Acer. At the time I wasn't thinking to get one, only looking at others' toys at the airport, so I didn't note model numbers.

The Compaq unit looks nice from the specs. Thanks for the pointer.

The Motion's screen size is the same as the Toshiba's, but because it's a slate model Tablet it's much thinner, and about 1 pound less heavy. That's why I switched to it after having a Toshiba for 2 weeks. Some people seem happy with the smaller 10.4 screen size of the other Tablet models, but I really like the 12.1 screen for reading and browsing. It's easier on the eyes. If you can, why not go to a Gateway to see the Motion Tablet for yourself? You might really like it too.
