According to Anandtech and Slashdot, Compaq will be taking back all tablet PC's to fix a hard wired defect that affects the speed of the Transmetta Crusoe. Mainboards of the Compaq TabletPC's will have to be blue wired by their Techs and returned to customers.

Lets kill this thread now before it gets out of hand.

There are no postings related to the TC1000 on Anandtech.com.

There is ONE TC1000 related post on Slashdot.org and that one has to do with GNU/Linux installs.

There is no proof that HP is recalling Tablets to re-wire them. Its ridiculous.

And the Transmeta has performed identically in other platforms it is utilized in. I don't think there is a problem.

I knew there was something wrong. I've been using my TC1000 since November but there's been something in the back of my mind that keeping warning me...something isn't right here...there's something "unnatural" about the TC1000.

Then after reading your post, and some others I realized what it was. The battery life. Why on earth is this thing getting me 5+ hours on a single charge when most every other laptop and tablet machine is in the 3-3.5 hour range. Damn I knew they pulled one over on me.

I will be the first one to send my machine back to HP/Compaq to make sure that they correct this problem. I don't know what kind of "magic" they're using, but it makes me uncomfortable. I knew it was too good to be true. I just want my computer to be like everyone elses. Should have bought the Motion. I bet they don't have these extended battery life problems.

</sarcasm>

Seriously...stop trolling. go try to enjoy your Motion despite your obviously regret for not getting Compaq.
