Thought I'd make a new topic out of this. I am trying to get delivery from CDW by 7 March to take on an 8 March trip. Robert from NEC is watching the date the machines go out of their place and when they should arrive at NEC. Just posting this as reminder to him and a place for the others who are waiting to get an idea when they can expect to get theirs.

I don't want to promise anything, but it looks like CDW's (along with PCConnection and Ingram Micro, which goes to Amazon, among others) will get shipped tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed. That doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll have yours on the 7th, but it's looking pretty good. We're getting a shipment every few days for the next two weeks, so things will evolve quickly.

I'm still not promising anyone will have theirs before the 12th or the 15th, though. Too many variables to really tell for sure (and too many potential disasters to get in the way).

If you haven't ordered yours yet, please do. Demand on these things are VERY high. It's quite possible that we'll be in short supply for quite some time (just like Toshiba was).

Usually our orders take three to five business days to get from our shipping department to retailers. So, it's looking like they'll start appearing on store shelves by the end of next week.

I'll let you know more as things evolve.

Does anyone know which place is the best to order the Nec tablet from? Cdw, Amazon, or Pcconnection, which one will get it first? Anyone have any experience with returns or exchanges with any of them, ex. dead pixels...How's the customer service?

Mine from CDW is scheduled 2day after they receive on 3/6 (pray).

Yup!

Also to PCConnection and to Ingram Micro (which will go to Amazon).

Right now it's a crap shoot as to who'll be best to get them from.

Everyone basically got 25, so try to find out if your favorite vendor has sold 25 yet.

More are coming in a day or two, though, so if you don't get in on the first round, there are a ton more coming.

FYI... I heard that the initial allotment going out overall was only about 300 or so Tablets... get them while they last :D -- I know that I already have my order in and have my fingers crossed to actually get them by Friday [8D]

yeah, it sounds like there'll be precious few in the first batch going out.

i got my order in at Amazon on 2/20, but given the fact that they use a wholesale distributor, i'm just hoping i get my hands on mine by mid-week next week...

Usually CDW gets their stuff in three to five business days. Since they went out on Friday, that means I'd expect to start seeing them at CDW's warehouse Wednesday-Friday. Their first order was for 25, so if you're in the first 25 on the waiting list, you'll get one.

Yes I am in the first 25 (4th to be exact) but still trying to get it by Friday to take on a trip Sat. They are working well with me. Thanks for all the help. Can't wait to get it!

Bleh... Robert, would you think it holds, then, that Ingram Micro will get them later this week? Then, if Amazon gets them in the first half of next week... I might get mine around the 17th or so?

I just talked to CDW and my NEC is in the process of being shipped out to me today. should get it tomorrow or most likely Thursday. I think I was order no. 5 or 6 in the original allotment of 25 to CDW.

People who get theirs please post as much pictures as you can and also tell us about wifi and other stuff.

I am back to square one now, compaq is having way too many problems, motions is having broken endcaps.. Toshiba seems ok but its way too bulky.. so NEC..

Robert, will NEC display this in CeBit? I am going to CeBit and it would be cool to get hands on experience on this.

Well I'm going to have to wait a few days... I ordered a unit tricked out and it appears the first ones that shipped from CDW where the 256 mb models with no accessories etc.... hopefully it won't be too many days

I ordered mine with the 512 upgrade (ordered the "generic" memory for $108 that Robert said should work) had CDW install it and mine is waiting at the house.
