Great!

You get another 30 days with the 2.0 trial (my 1.0 trial's 30 days was used up)

The first version left me scratching my head but this looks very good.

So for those of us who bought version 1.0, how do we upgrade to 2.0? I heard the upgrade would be free.

I just went directly to the FC web site and downloaded a new eval copy. When it installed, it kept my registration information and appears to function as a fully registered copy.

I do wish I could import all the information I have in my 7.3 version, though. That is years of history I would like to have at my disposal...

It would be nice if I could even import my phone list, which I don't appear to be able to do.

I'd said I was waiting for 2.0. So, I've downloaded the trial and plan to give it a spin over the weekend.

TabletPlanner2.0 seems better. But I had porblems in automatic conversion of the old TP database and in Sync-ing with Outlook Calendar. TP failed with "Fatal Error" messages. Does anyone have similar problems? Attached snipped messages in Journal format.

I was a beta tester of TabletPlanner. I did not experience such a problem with either the beta versions or the gold release. Have you tried reinstalling version 1 and upgrading it again?

I agree, I'd like to be able to take certain paragraphs from a doc, or only certain cells from a spreadsheet rather than having to "print" the entire document to the tab, or copying the selection to a new doc and then printing that.

I am still struggling to manage TP Version 2.0.
What is worse, I cannot unlock the trial version with the key given by FC for $169.95. TP stops as soon as the cursor is located in the box. This has been reported to FC, but not yet replied.

As far as I can see, there is no way to print monthly view in Version 2. Unless I'm missing the trick, this is a serious mistake in the upgrade. I bought the software in Version 1, but am sorry I did if FC is not going to make it useful. Am I missing something?

While I'm a big fan of FC and the idea of this planner, unless we can print weekly and monthly views, this software is not worth the money. I also wrote FC with my question more than a week ago and have not received any kind of reply. I'm not sure Tablet Planner is ready for prime time, especially at it's current price.

Takeichi, I experienced database upgrade fatal errors during the v2 beta programme. I reported the problem and was contacted by Agilix. I then sent them my database, and a couple of days later they indicated to me that the problem was fixed. Sure enough, v2 public updated my database successfully. So perhaps you should e-mail Agilix and see if they can help?

Thanks, vickys.
I will try to do this.
We are using so called multi-byte characters which may not be dealt with correctly in TP. The calendar view appears as it takes care of locale information, however.

A question on sync-ing with MS Outlook of non-English version. TP version 2.0 assumes that the standard folders of MS Outlook are named as "Calendar", "Contacts", and "Tasks", while these have been renamed in Japanese version of Outlook. I need to rename back to these default names in English. How is French, Germany, or other non-English versions?

So for those of us who bought version 1.0, how do we upgrade to 2.0? I heard the upgrade would be free.

Simply download and install TabletPlanner 2.0 from www.tabletplanner.com. It will install "over" 1.0 and maintain your data. If you have already entered a valid product code, it will maintain the code and you can continue to have unlimited use.

I got a message from beta.tabletplanner@franklincovey.com concerning posted questions on internationalization of TP. I appreciate FC responding it promptly, while FAQ on Tablet Planner WEB page of FC states that TP already supports six languages including Japanese. I hope the TP developer works out a truely supported international version soon.

Another problem solved?: I had a problem in using TP 2.0. Everytime I started TP a small window for printer setup was opened and gave messages ending with "Printer not added" and no files could be printed to eBinder.
Image Insert:
http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/uploaded/Takeichi/200338184441_PrinterSetupError.jpg

I managed somehow by manually stopping the printer spooler service and then starting TP and so on, and finally the printer became available. I wonder what is the cause of the error and how to do. Heuristics does not help us the next time. Could someone give me the solution?

I appreciate FC responding it promptly, while FAQ on Tablet Planner WEB page of FC states that TP already supports six languages including Japanese. I hope the TP developer works out a truely supported international version soon.

Another problem solved?: I had a problem in using TP 2.0. Everytime I started TP a small window for printer setup was opened and gave messages ending with "Printer not added" and no files could be printed to eBinder.

I managed somehow by manually stopping the printer spooler service and then starting TP and so on, and finally the printer became available. I wonder what is the cause of the error and how to do. Heuristics does not help us the next time. Could someone give me the solution?

I downloaded the trial version today.
My greatest with is that calendar and journal should be linked. soy I am at a meeting I can write notes related to the meeting which are linked to the specific time of the meeting.
I think somebody else has made the same request in this post.
I am having a problem with sync.
I was away from my office and synced through outlook web this morning. When I came to my office I changed sync setting to outlook or outlook wet is not available when I am inside my office network and get the following dialog.
Changing a connection type (between outlook and outlook web access) for a single outlook account will cause the next sync to duplicate in both outlook and Tabletplanner, all previously synced items from that account. Are you are you want to make this change?
Any advice?

I think they already have the feature to take notes on an appointment. If you click the appointment on your calendar and go to the detail page, you have infinite note pages at the bottom.

Is anyone else having problems with the sync from TabletPlanner
to Outlook? I originally thought the problems were due to
my using Outlook2003 (beta), but I've since returns to Outlook2002
and am experiencing the same problems.

The difficulty is general wierdness after I sync. If I choose sync
options with the arrows going in both directions (to/from Outlook),
not every appointment/task gets sent over to Outlook. If I choose
sync options with the arrows going in one direction only (from TabletPlanner to Outlook only), then all sorts of strange things happen. Some contact names get put as appointments (picking random
times!) and appointments are lost. I will say that I do tend to use the highlighter on a number of my appointments (so that I can easily
distinguish work-related appointments from personal appointments)
so I don't know if this is causing part of the problem. However,
some of the highlighted appointments get sync'ed and some don't. Also, I don't have any contacts highlighted so I'm not sure why that is causing a problem.

Those of you who are not having problems with syncing:
(1) How are your arrows set on the sync config menu?
(2) Which was set up first, your outlook appointments/contacts or
your TabletPlanner appointments/contacts? (Mine is the latter.
I've started from scratch on Outlook.)

Since I only have a week or so left on my TabletPlanner trial, I thought I would use it today to determine if I wanted to buy it. I set my sync arrows so that Outlook would override TabletPlanner and then sync'ed. I have duplicate appointments all over the place.

I think I'll stick to Outlook.
