I just noticed that their is an update for the Transmeta that claims that it will reduce both start time and application load time. I loaded it - so far so go. I am not sure that I notice anything - but my machine was fine to begin with..

Exactly which update are you referring to? The SYstems Enhancements Disk or another one?

I just installed it and I think it did load faster. The Journal was always slow to load the first time and it seemed faster. If anyone else installs it maybe check time to load an application before and after to determine if it did something.

i think there's a slight improvement but nothing I'd say is "leaps & bounds" better. still ANY improvement is going in the right direction.

I think that it is a signficant improvement. I do have my machine maxed out with RAM

I also see speed increase loading application. I did not pay attention to boot time.
