Is anyone aware of a PCMCIA adapter that would plug into one of the NEC's USB ports? This might be an acceptable work around for me (for the PC Card Ricochet modem I'd like to use).

I feel oddly like I'm going backwards (e.g. PCMCIA cards that give you USB 2.0 ports are easy to find), but I would think it should be technologically possible. I did a Google search and didn't find much, other than a few outdated articles on people who tried card readers for their desktops with compatibility issues.

I'm still looking, but this looks like it'd work. Not optimal size, though.

ROFL- for that size I may as well get the Ricochet external USB modem and lug that around. ;)

Thanks for the response. I am going to be in Japan from March 16-March 31; I am tempted to buy a NEC Tablet there and bring it back (Japanese XP and all). Maybe I'll find a PCMCIA card adaptor there.
