First off this is not an advertisement, I'm just a user who found a great price.
CDW is listing the c102ti for $1499 before rebates.
This the lowest price I've seen for a tablet pc with an intel processor.
They are new and in stock (minus one for me:D).
Here is the link.

Well done.
I will be very interested to here how the 02 compares to the 04

having previously owned both an 02 and an 04 it seems that only the video response and wireless strength are different.
both are better on my 04 than the 02
there is no 'real world' speed difference I can see between the two.
the 04 might have fared better if it were not throttled by the lack of upgradeable ram, which would free it from working full blast just to keep the OS happy.
but the 02 is enough for what I mosty do with my tablet pc and the price and extra battery make it even better.
The 04 has better video?
One of the things that bugs me (just a little) about the 02 is that video in portrait is not 100% (more like 40%). Most things seem fine but video like MPEG doesn't even work in full screen and suffers serious banding in a window.
Sub-par video chip compared to the other tablets which don't suffer this.
Of course watching video in portait is not necessary (or even desirable) but scrolling is also a bit slow i've noticed.

The video on the 04 is more responsive than on the 02.
This may be due to the faster processor.
It still has less color depth when portrait mode (the cause for the 'banding') and as it's a non-standard resolution (for most notebooks) I'm sure the chip/drivers have yet to be fully optimized.
That being said, when running applications the open, move, minimize and scroll functions are faster.
I cannot say about video as I dont have a firewire DVD and I would not even try to watch a DVD on a USB 1.x system no matter what video chip it had.

I ordered one of these myself on Thursday, however the pricing is almost definately a mistake. The 102T is selling for $1,669.95 and the 102Ti for $1,499.95, so its likely someone switched the prices. Personally I don't mind, I'm just double crossing my fingers that the correct tablet arrives at my door on Monday.

I called that CDW place and a nice woman helped me out alot with the Acer. The c102i with the 30 gig drive, external cd rom, 256 mb RAM, wireless card, etc was available for $1,496, andc no taxes unless you live in IL! I picked one up and I love it, the convertable form factor is IMO far superior to the tablet form. Anyways, her name is Natalie and she hooked me up with a discount on some other stuff when I bought an extended warranty.
try her out if you are interested.

Sorry about that. I kept hitting send. In any case, surprisingly, I didn't find the speed to be a significant factor. I haven't burned anything on the CTI yet, so I have yet to see what the limiting factors are and if it's even worth it to have the dual IEEE/USB 2.0. What kind of questions did you have between the two?
