Can anyone help me with this?
I was using my TC1000 as normal and went to change the screen rotation and found the pen-activted buttons no longer work. There is no response when I tap on them. The buttons are configured as normal in the tablet PC settings options.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I assume you have rebooted.
After dropping my tablet onto a tile floor from about chest high (which it survived quite well I might add, thanks in part to the sacrifice of my 802.11b PC Card blade antenna!) I noticed my "Screen Rotation" pen button not working. I tapped around the button icon in increasingly larger circles until I discovered the "Sweet Spot" had drifted down and to the right about 4-5 millimeters.
Tap around those harware icons a little bit - see what happens. Otherwise, get ready to test out the Compaq Support System.

Yeah - I've tried rebooting. The werid thing is that they work fine in portrait just no reponse in landscape - which I assume means some setting got changed somewhere. Whatever it is its well hidden.
Edit - ok its going again now, thanks Kupe. The sweet spot had indeed drifted a little - it was just more obvious in portrait than landscape. My table hasn't been dropped or anything so I'm at a loss as to what caused this.

Mine drift as well, particularly the Input Panel button. Sometimes it is worse than other times.

This "drift" is a known issue. I called Tech support on it once, and they told me the same thing -- just keep moving around until you hit it. Their resolution? There is none, and they won't offer one ....
Hey!! THis just happened to me!!!
I have rebootd, done erverything I can think of. Still no go for any of the pen activated buttons - with one exception: That is, if I go to the settings for the pen-activated settings, select say orientation, then the reset button, then the orientation button works. But only once. Then it is nack to no go.
This is wierd and it seems to me it must be a software problem because of the above.
But why now, all of a sudden?
It is VERY annoying. [cry]

...and now my pen is also behaving erratically. Freezing the cursor a bit, not able to reach within 1/2 an inch of the edge of the screen.
Now I'm thinking the whole thing might be the battery giving out. Evn though it is only a month or two old...
