Hey all. I just got an export model 3500 (350Z-002GJ) here in Japan, on Friday. I'm really enjoying it except for problems getting the computer to work right on battery power. Everything works fine on power cord but can't get it to stop freezing up when awakening from hibernation/standby or cold start. I haven't seen any posts with this problem and will call Toshiba Direct here in Japan tomorrow but I wanted to share my experience to see if anyone else has this problem. I don't know if I got a bum battery or what. I thought it might have something to do with only having 256MB so I upgraded it to 512MB. No luck. Don't think it's a software problem since I can't see how software would interfere, but I'll keep an open mind in case someone knows better. I'd be glad to hear any thoughts out there. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I can only say that hibernation works fine on my 3500 both power and battery.
Let us know if you do find the problem in case it crops up with other systems.

Well, guys, my problem must have been a fluke. No one in Service and Support here in Japan had heard of my problem and wanted to take a look at my computer for a couple of weeks to figure it out. No loaner policy though, and I wanted my Tablet PC back ASAP. So, I took it back to the store, they looked at it, confirmed my problem and exchanged my Tosh for a new one. Hope the new one works out. Will let you know if it happens again. Thanks.
