Hi all,

Thanks to the comments by those in this forum, I decided to stick with the docking station and forgo the HDD upgrade for now. However, I'm looking into possible drives to replace the 20GB which I know I'll fill in a month or so.

Has anyone had any luck locating a source for 5400 rpm 60 GB HDDs? Toshiba makes the MK6022GAX which has an awesome 16MB buffer, but not a single vendor I've looked at has it in stock. I'm vaguely aware of a Travelstar 60GB/5400 rpm drive, but it's either 12.5mm or out of stock.

I saw in the Compaq thread that HP is shipping the 60G model. I'd ask over there they may know the Manufacture and model in theirs. I don't know what the cache is on that model either.

Don't know if you're still looking at this point, but Dirt Cheap Drives dot com carries a good assortment of drives. Their inventory changes often so check often. They currently are carrying the 40GB 5400 RPM Toshiba, but not the 60GB. But there is an Hitachi 60GB, 5400 RPM listed for $349.

I'm also looking to upgrade and was wondering if the 5400 RPM drives cause more noise than the 4200 drives? Anyone know?
