and it works fine... no extra clicking.

It has a sticker on it that says 03-04. wonder if that's supposed to be the battery change date?

But I'm glad that they seem to have the supply issues working and the products are good quality.

Tomorrow the replacement docking station arrives - hopefully my USB issues will be resolved as well.

Glad to hear Tim. I wonder, has anyone else had a sticker with those (or any) numbers on it on their replacement pens? Could just be a manufacturing number, who knows.

I ordered 2 TC1000 initially, both have been replaced (pen count now 4), two further replacement (pen count now 6), failed. Finally, 2 weeks ago, two more pens arrived, with the sticker and the branded nibs. Now I'm on pens 7 & 8, things work perfectly. Sound to anyone else like a poorly manufactured original batch? UK Technical support are very quiet on the subject....

yes, my replacement pen too has the sticker - just as you unscrew the pen open. (By the way, I changed the nib on my replacement and there is now a small "rattle" when there wasn't before - although the pen works perfectly)

My new pen has the same number too - recieved it Wednesday. The temperature problem I had was fixed - when the temperature of the room dropped into the mid-60s (Fahrenheit) or I transported the tablet from a car to a building, the pen would click randomly until it heated up. No problems at all with the new pen so far!

Pen #2 had the sticker and it worked great for about 6 days and all of a sudden it went bad. My third pen doesn't have a sticker and so far its working great.

Why doesnt compaq realize the magnitude of this problem and get new pens made that are more sturdy? :/

Is there any other pens that work with this and are available for sale somewhere? I think I saw once on ebay some IBM pens that were claimed to work for TC1k, is that true?

The thing is I live in India and I plan to buy a TPC, if the pen fails I cant do anything, compaq wont ship replacement pens to India and I am done for :/
