No insider info or anything....just shuffling mixed info gathered over the past few months.

Here goes: HP is readying a major overhaul of its TC line........and...probably just in time for chrismas.....a brand new twist on the tablet format with the SCOUT prototype taking shape with a swivelling digitizer " Ã* la Clio ", most specs found in the Vison V800XPT but... a better processor and every wireless connection available. Of course the smaller display ( 8.4 in ) will give it exeptional battery life. Price point: Between 1000.00$ and 1500.00$.

Hey! We all have a constitutional right to dream.

Okay,I'll byte. All the major manufacturers will introduce tablet models during the first six months of 2005 with improved screens (wider viewing angle, indoor-outdoor) and improved batteries (an hour to ninety minutes longer on a charge than now). Their existing tablet models will continue to be offered, but with a 15 -20 % reduction in price. What do you think?

Guesses on software improvements, anyone?
The major notetaking products (OneNote, GoBinder, Evolution, PlanPlus, etc.) will have new versions in the next six months with improved virtual printers, integrated PDF readers and writers, and expanded note flags capability. Their searches will be more flexible and usable. They will support links among notes and limited editing of imported documents. What do you think?

Well, not certain about software updates quite like that. GoBinder seems to be on a longer major release cycle than that.

Staying in the software arena though - I think (well, I know) we are going to start to see a whole slew of new Tablet PC targeted apps once the Microsoft "Does your app think in ink?" contest winners are announced.

When are the Microsoft winners supposed to be announced?
