Hi all,
I tried to search before posting so forgive me if this is dup. If so just hook me up with a link and I'll be set.

So far I have purchased 1- x60 and 1- x61 and have been amazed by the amount of software loaded on these machines. I don't have one handy to list everything but I'm trying to figure out what software is required to run these tablets. I've purchased tablets (non Lenovo) in the past and don't remember this much "stuff" being installed. Our company is looking at purchasing several of these and I'm going to try to clean one up when we get them in and image them.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul!

Not dumb at all. But if you do a clean installation of Vista, then it will wipe everything extraneous off your hard drive. The crapware goes away. You will have to reinstall the programs you want, and any personal data. After the installation any drivers that need to be updated should be available from the OEM website.'s

Just Google "Vista Clean Install" and you'll find a wide variety of how-to instructions.

Hope that helps.

And then if you want to pare Vista down to the bare minimum, see V-Lite.

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't moved our company to Vista yet and will try to get them with XP pro. I asked for recovery CDs once and was told about a magic button that will kick out the CD for me. I'll have to lookup that email but I was wondering if that magic CD would reinstall all the junk.

Okay I finally got the tablets in and I'm starting to work on imaging.
Here is the question. Can I make an OS only recovery CD(s) from the thinkvantage? I bought them with Tablet XP and want to do a clean install.
