This is previously discussed but I felt it worth mentioning again. I recently purchased a refurbished HP TC1100 directly from HP. Bob Singer with HP handled my purchase and he is wonderful to work with. If there is not a refurbished system available at the time you call, your name can be placed on wait list and Bob will call you when one is available. The three year extended warranty is available on refurbished and refurbished accessories are also offered. There is a discount on the tablet for mentioning the fact the info came from TabletPCBuzz.

Thanks for the info! I'm in the market for an HP tablet right now, so I'll definitely check out what they have.

Meanwhile, has anyone heard if there may be a new tablet model from HP coming out some time in the next few weeks, i.e. some time before the start of school??? If so, maybe it's worth sitting tight a few weeks.

Would anybody be able to tell me if refurbished HP units are available outside the US?

I looked at the HP website and it doesn't have an answer to my question. I'll call HP Australia sometime tomorrow to ask about it also.

I placed a call to HP and was told they do not ship refurbished units from the U.S. site to purchasers outside the U.S. This is due to the tariffs, taxes, etc. I was also told did not believe *HP Australia carried the refurbished units. Perhaps worth a phone call to HP in your area to verify. If you have a relative in the U.S. perhaps they could purchase and ship to you. Be sure to verify with HP that the warranty will be valid.
*edit..sorry meant to say HP in Australia. You should probably still check directly with HP.

Yes, you CAN get refurb HP gear in Australia, through this mob in Tasmania:

It looks like they may not have the TC1100 - but you can ask them. I bought my TC1000 through them last year and it was great; HP honour the warranty worldwide (had to get the pen replaced).
