I really want to try sp2rc2 on my 1300
I have not touched the original install of sp1 that came with this tablet.
Can someone who has already installed sp2rc2 to their motion, let me know the pitfalls (if any) and if I can expect this to go smoothly.
Thanks
I installed sp2rc2 on my m1200, my girlfriend's m1300 and it was on the m1400 eval unit I just sent back.
Problems there are not.

I liked the "mobile" TIP that came with sp2. I seemed to get more windows errors with sp2 RC1 and RC2. I use National Instruments LabView. It did a few quirky things with sp2 RC1 and RC2. I eventually did a full restore back to SP1. LabView works like it should now.
Since it is a Beta, don't expect any support from Microsoft. Also, if you have any applications that are mission critical, then I would stick with SP1 until the official release of the service pack.

Thanks guys
I am still on the fence based on your responses.
With your crystal ball, what is the best guess as to when the final sp2rc2 will be released.
If it is more than another 2 or 3 months, I am going to take Trev's advice and go for it instead of waiting, if not then I will wait a month or so as JCP suggests.

The new TIP is more than enough reason to switch to SP2.The recognition is much better, it feels much better, the auto floating mini tip is perfect.
It floats like a butterfly, stings like bee!
We're hoping for a release in august, but there's no official word.

Two quick questions if I install sp2rc2 now.
Will I have to uninstall it before installing the the final release ?
Will the amount of change from sp2rc2 be un-important enought that I could just continue using sp2rc2 and not need the final release ?
Yes.
And you should. The RC2 might expire as well at some point, but I am not sure of it. Basically RC2 was stabler than rc1, and the final release will be better than rc2.
