I just purchased this dvd drive from Caloptic and initial tests show that it can boot a windows XP CD directly using USB power only. It claims to be USB powered but also contains its own li-ion battery which is recharged while plugged into the USB port.

I hadnt realised the prices had come down so much! shame that isnt available over here in the uk as far as i can see. Does anyone know if the lacie drives are bootable from the M200?
